Stopping Smoking

The subconscious mind governs the autonomic nervous system and anyone who smokes regularly will soon find the habit becoming fixed both physically and psychologically.  Nicotine patches and gum are not the answer as the subject is still taking nicotine into the system;  what is necessary is a new 'mind-frame' into which healthier habits are set.....

Now when you're in the company of people who smoke, you won't want a cigarette, in fact, you'll be so conscious of that stale, filthy smell of old tobacco. Feel that smell now, going up you're nostrils, the dirty smell of stale old tobacco. This smell is becoming very unpleasant to you - not only unpleasant - but it makes you turn away, for you'd rather breathe in clean, fresh air. And you can really notice that smell on the people close to you who smoke. You can smell it on their clothes, and on their hair, and on the skin and even on the breath, of every smoker that comes close to you. And you dislike that smell more and more - it nauseates you - it certainly doesn't make YOU want a cigarette - NO - it makes you feel even more glad that you're a non-smoker.

You're a non smoker now. You don't need to smoke, you don't want to smoke, and therefore you don't smoke. It's as easy as that, you have no desire, to ever, smoke again.

And every day you feel better, healthier, happier, calmer, more relaxed, more confident, more in control. And being in control gives you a wonderful sense of achievement, of accomplishment - of having really done something worthwhile.
