11 year old with a dummy

Does anyone have any ideas on how to approach an 11 year old who still sucks a dummy? What sort of induction for children?

Have you tried replacing the dummy with something else or maybe tell a story of how they USE TO use the dummy and now they feel so much better without it?

Thanks for your suggestions Amy. I think telling a story of how they used to have a dummy is probably the answer.
