Shark Phobia

Hi, any tips on treating a shark phobia, to the extent that she gets distressed at the thought of one suddenly appearing on tele. I was going to do NLP, TFT and Hypnotherapy, but would appreciate any feedback of anyone who has a successful session with this phobia.

Hi Karen Has your client had a negative experience concerning sharks in the past? My approach would be to regress her soon after the initial relaxation session to discover where and why this fear originated. It could be something as simple as being frightened by the film Jaws or it might be something totally different but without getting to the root cause of her fear then you wont know why she feels so afraid of sharks or the best way of dealing with her fear.

Hi and thanks for your reply. I have now seen my client. The root cause was a story being told to her when she was 4 years old by a teacher who told the story with lots of actions and sounds which freaked her out. From that time she has been unable to even look at a picture in a a magazine. I had a successful session with her, after talking through her phobia i done the fast phobia cure with her (nlp) which decreased her sud scale from a 9 to a 3, i then done some TFT on her to the point when she was unable to score, as she couldnt get the feeling back. She went away and i asked her to test it, as homeowrk i asked her to test it. I have received a text from her saying that she has been able to look at a picture of a shark in a magazine and she wasnt scared, which is brilliant. She is coming back on Monday and hopefully all i will have to do is some relaxation and future pacing with her. A good outcome
