hello...I just started seeing a woman whose primary complaint is anxiety which manifests in being unable to get a full breath such that she frequently tries to yawn and tends to cough alot. she has been cleared medically. the majority of the inductions i typically use place alot of emphasis on deep breathing and i would prefer to distract her from that. i have never done any of the rapid inductions. does anyone have any ideas on types of inductions that might be more effective for her? i was able to induce trance using a combination of a sensory awareness induction, an ericksonian style conversational induction AND an overload induction, but that took the majority of the session time. thanks for any ideas. gayle

Hi Gayle I saw a client for a similar problem a few years ago and we used colours to help her to overcome the full breath issue - she chose her own colour which was red or pink and she told me that whenever she felt the onset she would instantly visualize this colour and it worked for her instantly.
