In the U.K., BBC News reported in April of this year a man who used self hypnosis during a thumb-related operation. He not only trusted in hypnotherapy, but also self-hypnosis during the operation, taking himself into a trance in less than a minute. Hi faith, <p>this can quite easily be achieved with self-hypnosis taught through hypnosis, when in somnambulism, f.e. http://www.omnihypnosis.com/Teaching-Self-Hypnosis.shtm i havent done this myself yet, but heard and seen good things. Going to somnambulism with fully anaesthetic in 5 seconds.... Jerry Kein calls it the finger-drop technique. Im sure any therapist here could teach this to somnambulistic clients. great article. rudy

Hypnosis for pain control is real, as is Self Hypnosis for such. I have known someone who went through an entire operation without anesthetic,but I would suggest that there are very few people with the strong beliefs that would leave them comfortable doing it.
