Smoking

I have a client who wants to give up smoking again ... she only started again when the public smoking ban came in , as she feels its her right to do what she likes where she likes etc .. she has no illness or knows of nobody who has become ill through smoking , she hates the cost of cigarettes in the UK , but says she wont notice the money if she gives up ... just wondering what the best angle would be to appraoch this from ?

I have a very high success rate with Stop Smoking. What I would do is Chunk Up linguistically on why she feels it is her right to do what she likes. It sounds like she is using the smoking to rebel and exert her will albeit it in a negative way by smoking. You and your client need to both explore other beneficial ways that she can positively express herself. Remember unconsciously all behaviour has a positive intent for the individual.
